Construction of Bubare Health Centre III out -Patients department launched
Mbarara District Local Government Health workers have been asked to promote sensitization programs on hygiene, sanitation, nutrition and the best practices on how people should behave as far as social life is concerned so as to avoid about 96 percent of diseases caused by bad habits due to ignorance.
The Mbarara district chairperson Capt. JB Bamuturaki Tumusiime said this while officiating the launch of the construction of Out-patients department (OPD) at Bubare Health Centre III at Bubare sub-county headquarters in Kashari South, Mbarara district.
He said that the initial phase of the health structure construction which stops at roofing will cost Shs. 96 million and over Shs. 200 million when complete. The district will continue to lobby for more funds from the Central government for its completion.
Capt. JB Tumusiime urged the local leaders, health Unit management committee members and the communities that since the district leaders have finished their responsibility of launching the construction it is now their duty to inspect and monitor regularly to ensure quality work is produced.
Tumusiime on behalf of the people of Mbarara and leadership thanked the Central government and Ministry of Health for being instrumental in settling health challenges in the district.
The chairperson Bubare sub county, Mr. Robert Kanene told the public that he will not fail to fight any person who executes shoddy works.
The launch was also attended by Secretary Social Services, Secretary for Works and Technical Services and its Committee members, District Health officer, District Engineer and other District staff, Sub-county councillors, LC I and LC II chairpersons.
