Banks and Bureaux de Change
Mbarara town has a number of banks and forex (foreign currency exchange) bureaus. There is a steady growth in the banking sector with the establishment in the Mbarara Municipality area of branches of the Central Bank and all the main commercial banks, including international banks (Barclays, Standard Chartered, and Stanbic). http://www.banks-uganda.com/mbarara-banks-uganda.html
All major currencies are used and can be exchanged. Some forex bureaus work 24/7. Visit any of the banks to establish current forex rates on market.
